On June 11, a very special event took place. After an 11-month gestation period, Aly gave birth to a female sea lion named Kiwi.

During the first few months of this pup’s life, her caretakers and veterinarians have provided care tailored to her needs to ensure her proper development.
With her arrival, Kiwi has brought a change to the entire sea lion group at Jungle Park. At this stage of development, she will learn social behaviors through play and by swimming with the group. You’ll also be able to watch them communicate with one another.
What makes this female sea lion special
From the moment of birth, a close bond forms between mother and pup, inviting visitors to observe nature with greater sensitivity during special moments that arise throughout the day—such as watching Kiwi nurse or sleep next to her mother.
A birth that highlights the park’s educational value
The birth of a sea lion provides an opportunity to discuss essential topics in an accessible way, such as the importance of conserving endangered species, pollution, and caring for the environment.
Stories like this also help highlight the work of the teams that care for the animals on a daily basis. Behind every heartwarming image lies careful observation, patience, and constant attention that ensure the mother and her pup thrive under the best possible conditions.
A heroine who appeals to all ages

Her story resonates with children, families, and animal lovers alike. It’s a way to bring the natural world closer to a wide variety of audiences, always through an enjoyable and respectful experience.
The role of daily care in their development
When it comes to a sea lion pup, its well-being does not depend on a single moment, but rather on a series of well-coordinated routines. Feeding, monitoring, observation, and a calm environment are all part of the setting that enables its growth.
The mother also plays an essential role. Her behavior, her bond with the pup, and her ability to provide it with a sense of security are key elements in this early stage. All of this is part of a natural dynamic that deserves to be observed calmly and without unnecessary interference.
